General Economics Division (GED), Bangladesh Planning Commission, in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), organized a national workshop on “Promote Sustainable Blue Investment in Bangladesh” on 22 December 2022 at BRAC CDM, Savar. Ms. Zuena Aziz, Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs), Prime Minister’s Office graced the national workshop as Chief Guest, whereas Mr. Ziaul Hasan, ndc, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Md Mokammel Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Dr. Shahnaz Arefin, ndc, Secretary, Statistics and Informatics Division, Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim, Secretary, Local Government Division and Rear Admiral (Retd.) Md. Khurshed Alam, BN, Secretary, Maritime Affairs Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the event as Special Guest. Besides, representatives from the public and private sectors, academicians, researchers, and development partners also joined the workshop and shared their opinion to identify challenges in promoting the Blue Economy in Bangladesh and future courses of action.
