Functions of GED

The General Economics Division (GED) is one of the six divisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission. This Division alike other technical divisions provides secretariat assistance to the Bangladesh Planning Commission and to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) and the National Economic Council (NEC) in all matters relating to plan/strategy paper preparation and formulation of economic policies. Major functions of this Division are as follows:

 Preparation of national, medium and long term guidelines and plans/strategy papers in accordance with social, economic and political objectives as laid down by the Government;
 preparation of technical frameworks for medium term plans/strategy papers;
 formulation of alternative strategies and policies for mobilization of domestic resources to achieve plan objectives;
 undertake research studies on economic issues in the field of fiscal and monetary policy, international economics, savings and investment, employment and income distribution etc.;
 undertake macro and sectoral evaluation of medium term plan/strategy papers;
 estimation of national income, consumption, savings and investment, domestic resources, external trade and Balance of Payments (BOP);
 preparation of Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) related reports;
 preparation of memorandum for Bangladesh aid group meetings;
 preparation of briefs for meetings and negotiations with multilateral organizations like World Bank, IMF ADB, ESCAP, EC and ECDC as well as other bilateral donors;
 supporting the Bangladesh Planning Commission for Resource Committee, Inter-ministerial Committee on ADP etc.; and
 initiate and organize seminars and professional discussions on issues relevant to economic management, planning and development.

Member:
The Member in-charge of the General Economics Division is responsible for providing overall guidance in accomplishing the works of various Wings under this Division. His/her major responsibilities include the following:
 Guidance for preparation of national plans, strategy papers and economic policies within the framework of development priorities of the Government;
 formulation of plan strategies, physical targets and sectoral allocation of investment;
 oversee technical exercises on projection of income, consumption, investment, domestic and external resources, export and import on annual basis;
 oversee implementation or decisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission;
 evaluation of economic progress and monitoring economic situation on a continuous basis in order to assess need for changes in official policies;
 study of macro-economic issues and formulation of appropriate policies for consideration of the Bangladesh Planning Commission/NEC/ECNEC;
 participation in NEC, ECNEC and Council Committee meetings;
 inter-ministerial consultations and coordination of various economic issues at national level and assist other ministries on macroeconomic issues;
 leading delegations and conducting negotiations with donors and aid-giving agencies as and when required;
 liaison with international agencies and world bodies on subjects relating to economic management, planning and development policy issues;
 performing various specific tasks assigned by the Bangladesh Planning Commission, NEC, ECNEC and different Ministries;
 participate as a director in the deliberations of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Bank; and
 work as a member of the Resource Committee.

Division Chief:
The main responsibility of the Division Chief is to coordinate the works of various Wings of the Division and assist the member in overall supervision. His/her major duties are as under:
 Maintenance of link between the Bangladesh Planning Commission and the Division for implementing Bangladesh Planning Commission’s directives and decisions in respect of formulation of plans, strategies programs and policies;
 initiating and guiding the Joint Chiefs in discharging the functions of the respective Wings;
 approval of all papers originating from the Wings for upward transmission;
 directing technical work on macroeconomic planning, development policies and on preparation of various studies;
 holding inter-ministerial/inter-agency consultations on important issues;
 coordination of activities of’ different Wings and maintenance of liaison with other divisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission;
 representing the Division on different national committees and sub-committees;
 receiving delegations and representatives from concerned UN and multilateral and bilateral donors;
 supervision and control of officers of the Division; and
 Other responsibility as and when assigned by the Member of the Division.

Macro and Perspective Planning Wing

Macro and Perspective Planning (M&PP) Wing is headed by a Joint Chief (JC). It has five sections; each one is run by a Senior Assistant Chief (SAC)/Assistant Chief (AC). One Deputy Chief (DC) supervises the works of all five sections. Major functions of this Wing are as follows:

 Construction of models for medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 preparation of macro chapters for medium-term plans/strategy papers;
 preparation of long-term plans/vision papers;
 preparation of background papers for medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 preparation of reports, position papers and undertaking studies and surveys on private investment for medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 preparation of indicative policies and programs regarding private investment;
 formulation of objectives, strategies and policies for achieving national goals like poverty reduction and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs);
 modeling of poverty intervention for poverty reductions;
 developing medium and long-term macroeconomic frameworks for the economy;
 preparation of quarterly report on current economic situation;
 assessment of annual macroeconomic performance of the economy;
 assessment of impact of macroeconomic shocks on the economy;
 projection of macroeconomic aggregates such as consumption, demand and employment;
 liaising with BBS in estimating national accounts and carrying out primary surveys and studies;
 monitoring the labor market and national employment situation;
 formulation of objectives, strategies and policies for employment generation and labor market development;
 preparation of papers on development issues;
 carrying out studies for formulation of economic policies; and
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings; and
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing.

Deputy Chief:
 Supervising and guiding SAC/ACs to carryout their job responsibilities;
 assisting the Joint Chief to carryout the mandated responsibilities of the M&PP Wing;
 technical work on construction of Macro-model, input-output matrix, capital-output matrix;
 preparation of background papers on issues relevant for perspective planning;
 preparation of background papers on final demand, income distribution, sectoral investment requirement etc.;
 preparation of relevant chapter of the Annual Economic Review;
 Evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending DPEC meetings;
 other responsibility as and when assigned by the Joint Chief.
Section-1: Macroeconomic Policy
 Formulation of macroeconomic policies and monitoring its implementation;
 formulation of objectives, strategies and policies for achieving macroeconomic stability, growth and poverty reduction;
 preparation of indicative policies regarding private investment;
 assisting preparation of medium-term plans/strategy papers like PRSPs and five-year plans;
 carrying out studies for formulation of economic policies;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.
Section-2: National Income and Macroeconomic Aggregates
 preparation of quarterly report on current economic situation;
 assessment of annual macroeconomic performance of the economy;
 projection of macroeconomic aggregates such as consumption, demand and employment;
 liaising with BBS in estimating national accounts and carrying out primary surveys and studies;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.
Section-3: Macroeconomic Modeling
 Construction of models for medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 modeling of poverty intervention for poverty reductions;
 developing medium and long-term macroeconomic frameworks for the economy;
 preparation of background papers for medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 assessment/simulation of impact of macroeconomic shocks on the economy;
 management of data module and it’s updating, including I-O and SAM;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.
Section-4: Employment and Labor Market
 Monitoring the labor market and national employment situation;
 formulation of objectives, strategies and policies for employment generation and labor market development;
 integrating the issue of labor and employment into the development plans/strategy papers.
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Section-5: Perspective Planning and related sectoral work
 Preparation of macro chapters for medium-term plans;
 coordinating overall preparation of perspective/long-term plans;
 formulation of objectives, strategies and policies for achieving long-term national goals like poverty reduction and millennium development goals(MDGs);
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings.
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 coordination with other Wings of the Division, including preparation of monthly report; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

International Trade and Economics Wing

International Economics (IE) Wing is headed by a Joint Chief (JC). It has three sections, each one run by a Senior Assistant Chief (SAC)/Assistant Chief (AC). One Deputy Chief (DC) supervises the works of all three sections. Major functions of this Wing are as follows:

 Compilation of balance of payments and computation of terms of trade;
 preparation of chapter on trade and balance of payments for medium and long-term plans;
 coordination and preparation of memorandum for Bangladesh Development Forum meeting;
 estimation and projection of balance of payments and aid requirements;
 analysis of structure of merchandise exports and imports and their trends and fluctuations;
 analysis of trends and fluctuations of invisible accounts;
 analysis of foreign direct investment, external debt and debt sustainability;
 preparation of papers relating to international development issues;
 preparation of briefs and position papers and monitoring bilateral and multilateral economic relations between Bangladesh and other countries and agencies;
 preparation of papers for the technical committee supporting the Resource Committee and attending the technical committee meetings;
 analysis of protection to domestic industries;
 analysis of exchange rate system and real effective exchange rate;
 analysis of foreign exchange reserve and reserve adequacy;
 analysis of export subsidies and export taxes;
 analysis of WTO and globalization issues as they impact on Bangladesh;
 analysis of tariffs and non-tariff barriers to exports;
 analysis of nexus between trade, growth and poverty;
 participation in meetings with bilateral and multilateral development partners;
 participation in the formulation of policies regarding foreign trade, exchange rate and foreign exchange reserve;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings; and
 attending meetings relating to foreign aid and providing comments, and
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing.

 analysis of export subsidies and export taxes;
 analysis of tariffs and non tariffs berries to exports;
 monitoring/analyzing RMG (ready made garments) export performance;
 analysis of imports duties and protection to domestic industries;
 analysis of WTO agreements on goods and services;
 analysis of the issues relating to globalization;
 monitoring bilateral trade and multilateral economic relations;
 drafting concept papers relating to international trade, WTO and globalization;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 attending meetings, workshop and seminars relating to international trade, WTO and globalization;
 preparation of monthly report of the Wing and coordination with other wings of the GED; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief.

Section-2: Balance of Payments and Foreign Exchange and related sectoral work
 Compilation of Balance of Payment (BOP) and estimation of terms of trade (ToT);
 estimation and projection of balance of payments and aid requirements;
 analysis of merchandise export, import and invisible accounts;
 analysis of exchange rate, remittances and foreign exchange reserve;
 drafting concept papers relating to balance of payments and foreign exchange;
 drafting write-up on BOP and foreign exchange for medium and long term plans/strategy papers;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 attending meetings, workshop and seminars relating to the balance of payments and foreign exchange; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief.

Section-3: FDI and External Debt Management and related sectoral work
 Data compilation and analysis of FDI (foreign direct investment);
 data compilation and analysis of external debt and its macroeconomic implications;
 drafting concept papers relating to FDI and external debt management;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 attending meetings, workshops and seminars relating to FDI and external debt management;
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief.

Fiscal and Monetary Policy Wing

Fiscal and Monetary Policy (F&MP) Wing is headed by a Joint Chief (JC). It has three sections, each one run by a Senior Assistant Chief (SAC)/Assistant Chief (AC). One Deputy Chief (DC) supervises the works of all three sections. Major functions of this Wing are as follows:

 Initiation and supervision of work on projection of domestic resources for medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 analysis of domestic resources and current expenditure including subsidies for the medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 undertaking detailed analysis of revenues like tax elasticity and buoyancy, tax system, tax effort, incidence of taxes and robustness of revenue forecast;
 undertaking detailed analysis of public expenditure including types of public expenditure, public expenditure policy issues and macroeconomic implication, incidence and forecasting of public expenditures;
 analyzing financing of budget and sustainability of fiscal policy;
 reviewing of monetary and credit situation and resource position both in the public and private sectors;
 estimation and forecasting of demand for money;
 analysis of net domestic assets – net domestic credit and other related items;
 analysis of monetary and financial policies and initiation of policy proposals on fiscal and monetary issues including new fiscal measures for the budget;
 initiation and guiding of studies on fiscal and monetary issues related to preparation of medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 analysis of trends and forecast of money supply and credit requirements;
 preparation of analytical notes and reviewing of financial performance of public sector enterprises, public utilities and financial institutions;
 analysis of price situation in the economy;
 analysis of microcredit industry;
 participation in committees, study and working groups on fiscal and monetary matters and drafting reports as and when required;
 participation in inter-ministerial meetings, meetings of the Bangladesh Planning Commission and meetings with visiting missions of IMF, World Bank and other development partners, and
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings; and
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing.

 Supervising and guiding SAC/AC to carryout their job responsibilities;
 assisting Joint Chief to carryout the mandated responsibilities of the F&MP Wing;
 supervising in analysis of trends and forecast of money supply and credit requirements;
 supervising in projection of the domestic resources for the medium-term plans/strategy papers;
 supervising in preparation of papers relating to the functions of the wing;
 supervising in projection of domestic resources, current expenditure including subsidies for the medium medium-term plans/strategy papers;
 supervising in estimating revenue, current expenditure including subsidies for the ADP;
 supervising in preparation of periodic reviews on banking and credit situation;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending DPEC meetings;
 Other responsibility as and when assigned by the Joint Chief.

Section-1: Monetary Management and related sectoral work
 Preparation of periodic reviews of monetary and credit situation and resource position;
 collection of data from financial institutions and other organizations in respect of money supply, sanctioning and disbursement of credit, prices of commodities etc.;
 analysis of trends and forecast of money supply and credit requirements;
 initiating and supervising work on projection of the domestic resources for the medium-term plans/strategy papers;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.
Section-2: Fiscal Policy and Revenue and related sectoral work
 Computation of tax elasticities, tax-GDP ratio, taxable capacity, effective rates of Import duty and sales taxes etc.;
 preparation of draft guidelines for medium term and perspective plans/strategy papers.
 collection and compilation and analysis of non-tax revenue;
 projection of domestic resources-tax and non-tax revenues, current expenditure including subsidies for the medium term plans/strategy papers;
 preparation of estimates of tax and non-tax revenue, current expenditure including subsidies for the annual development program;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.
Section-3: Banking and related sectoral work
 Collection of data from banking institutions and other organizations regarding sanction and disbursement of credit;
 preparation of periodic reviews on banking and credit situation;
 preparation of comments on issues and proposals received from other divisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission, ministries and divisions;
 correspondence with other divisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission and other ministries on the fiscal and monetary issues;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 coordination with other Wings of the Division, including preparation of monthly report of the Wing; and
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Poverty Analysis and Monitoring Wing

Poverty Analysis and Monitoring (PA&M) Wing is headed by a Joint Chief (JC). It has four sections, each one run by a Senior Assistant Chief (SAC)/Assistant Chief (AC). One Deputy Chief (DC) supervises the works of all four sections. Major functions of this Wing are as follows:

 Preparation of position papers and policy briefs on issues like economic growth, poverty, employment and inequality;
 measurement of poverty including its regional distribution;
 measurement and analysis of vulnerabilities of the poor due to natural, environmental, social, economic and other factors;
 tracking and monitoring of income poverty (headcount ratio, depth and severity of poverty) and non-income poverty (education, health nutrition and sanitation);
 tracking and monitoring pattern of income distribution and inequality measures;
 projection of poverty consistent with macro and sectoral output and setting of targets for poverty reduction in a perspective framework;
 analysis of survey-based (HIES, PMS, BDHS) poverty (income and non-income) by region and household;
 analysis of social protection measures;
 monitoring and evaluation of Poverty Reduction Strategy’s (PRS) implementation;
 undertaking participatory consultations with the stakeholders;
 review and formulation of policies and strategies for poverty reduction;
 designing of mechanism for integrating consultation feedbacks into policy making;
 attending meetings/workshops on issues relating to poverty alleviation and HRD;
 analysis of human resource development (HRD) status of the country and suggesting strategies for HRD;
 providing comments/suggestions on Medium Term Budgetary Framework (MTBF); and
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings; and
 attending seminars, symposiums workshops and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing.

 analysis of social protection measures;
 monitoring and evaluation of Poverty Reduction Strategy’s (PRS) implementation;
 undertaking participatory consultations with the stakeholders;
 attending meetings/workshops related to issues relating to poverty alleviation and HRD;
 attending DPEC meetings on finalization/approval of project portfolio so as to undertake the projects in line with PRSP;
 providing comments/suggestions on MTBF;
 attending seminars, symposiums workshops and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 carrying out studies towards formulation of economic policies;
 preparation of position papers for international seminars/meetings such as meetings of the representative of the National Planning Organization of SAARC; and
 other responsibility as and when assigned by the Joint Chief.

Section-1: Poverty Policy, Strategy and Preparation of PRSP

 Review and formulation of policies and strategies for poverty reduction;
 attending meetings related to miscellaneous issues on poverty alleviation and HRD;
 providing comments/suggestions on MTBF;
 preparation of papers, comments/suggestions relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums, workshops and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 preparation of monthly report of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Section-2: Poverty and MDGs status Analysis

 Preparation of position papers and policy briefs on poverty related issues;
 measurement and analysis of poverty;
 undertaking participatory consultations with the stakeholders;
 designing of mechanism for integrating consultation feedbacks into policy making;
 providing comments/suggestions on MTBF;
 preparation of papers, comments/suggestions relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums, workshops and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Section-3: Poverty, PRSP and MDGs Implementation Monitoring

 Tracking and monitoring of income poverty;
 tracking and monitoring of distribution of income pattern and inequality measures;
 review the progress of poverty related MDGs;
 monitoring and evaluation of Poverty Reduction Strategies (PRS) and it’s implementation;
 providing comments/suggestions on MTBF;
 preparation of papers, comments/suggestions relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Section-4: Poverty Measurement and Social Safety Nets Programme, related sectoral work

 Analysis and measurement of survey-based (HIES, PMS, BDHS) poverty (income and non-income) by region;
 measurement and analysis of vulnerabilities of the poor due to natural, environmental, social, economic and other factors;
 analysis of social protection measures;
 tracking and monitoring of non-income poverty indicators;
 projection of poverty consistent with macro and sectoral output and setting of targets for poverty reduction in a perspective framework;
 providing comments/suggestions on MTBF;
 preparation of papers, comments/suggestions relating to the functions of the section;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 attending seminars, symposiums, workshops and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Multisectoral Issues Wing

Multisectoral Issues (MI) Wing is headed by a Joint Chief (JC). It has three sections; each one is run by a Senior Assistant Chief (SAC)/Assistant Chief (AC). One Deputy Chief (DC) supervises the works of all three sections. Major functions of this Wing are as follows:

 Analysis of issues on the following cross-cutting subjects and undertaking studies on them:
• gender,
• children’s rights,
• environment,
• governance,
• ICT and biotechnology,
• regional balance,
• institutional development and
• any other cross-cutting subject;

 distilling of results of the studies on cross-cutting issues into the medium and long-term plans/strategy papers;
 studying inter-linkages between cross-cutting issues and their impact on social sectors of the economy;
 coordination with other divisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission, ministries and agencies on behalf of the Division;
 looking after the coordination of the Division;
 attending to all miscellaneous duties with regard to the designated as well as newly identified cross-cutting subjects, and
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing.

Job descriptions of the MI Wing officers are as follows:
Joint Chief:
 Supervising and guiding DC and SAC/ACs to carryout their job responsibilities of the MI Wing;
 assisting the Division Chief to carryout the mandated responsibilities of the GED;
 guiding preparation of position paper on issues like poverty, environment, governance, institutional development, regional balance and other cross-cutting subjects;
 guiding preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 guiding in PRSP related activities;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC meetings;
 other responsibility as and when assigned by the Division Chief.

Deputy Chief:
 Supervising and guiding SAC/ACs to carryout their job responsibilities;
 assisting the Joint Chief to carryout the mandated responsibilities of the MI Wing;
 supervising preparation of position paper on issues like poverty, environment, governance, institutional development, regional balance and other cross-cutting subjects;
 supervising preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 monitoring PRSP related activities;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending DPEC meetings;
 other responsibility as and when assigned by the Joint Chief.

Section-1: Coordination with other wing & Bangladesh Planning Commission/Planning Division

Alternative:
 Coordination with other Wings of GED;
 co-ordination with other divisions of the Bangladesh Planning Commission, Ministries and agencies on behalf of the Division;
 maintaining records of all transfers, placements and other notices of officers staff of GED;
 arranging internal and on-the-job training of all offers & staff of GED;
 keeping (all general records;) official Record of officers Staffs of GED different Section of the Wing
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 All ending administrative relating and Maul try Coordination
 Paper for Monthly Coordination meeting
 Paper for National Budget.
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Section-2: Crosscutting Issues relation to other Ministries

Alternative:

 Preparation of position paper on issues on poverty, employment, environment, governance, institutional development, regional balance and other cross-cutting subjects;
 preparation of President’s speech;
 dealing with parliamentary affairs, questions and answers;
 coordination with development partners;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing; and
 Paper Preparation and attending Women in Development WID related nettings.
 Papers and Comments Preparation for Medium tern Budgetary ran work (MTBF) Concerned Ministries.
 Preparation of brief o different cross cutting issues on Gender, Children, ICT & biotechnology;
 attend as WID focal point meeting in the M/O Women &Child affair;
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.

Section-3: PRSP related Activities and related sectoral work

 dealing with other PRSP related activities;
 preparation of papers relating to the functions of the section;
 attending seminars, symposiums and meetings relating to the functions of the Wing;
 evaluating DPP/TPP of concerned sectors, drafting comments on them and attending PEC/DPEC meetings;
 comments on DPP, TPP of M/O Health M/O Social welfare, M/O Women & Child Affairs M/O Education & M/O Primary & Mass Education on the light of the PRS;
 participation in the PEC, DPEC meeting held in the different ministries & make comments on the DPP/TPP on the light of PRS;
 papers and Comments Preparation for ministerial Working Group for PRS;
 performing other duties as and when assigned by the Deputy Chief/Joint Chief of the Wing.
