Khan Md. Nurul Amin, ndc is the Chief of the General Economics Division, Bangladesh Planning Commission and an Additional Secretary to the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
He embarked on his journey in the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Cadre, securing his position through a highly competitive examination in the 11th BCS as an Assistant Commissioner on April 1st, 1993. His career encompasses diverse roles, including Magistrate 1st class and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Chief Executive of Sub-District), offering valuable services to the field administration. He worked in the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Home Affairs, Finance Division of Ministry of Finance, Bank and Financial Intuitions Division of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Moreover, he held a significant role in the Planning Division of the Ministry of Planning. Not only that, he worked as a Director General of the Anti-corruption Commission, Bangladesh.
Mr. Khan has been part of many important policy decisions of Bangladesh.
He equipped himself through various trainings from home and abroad.
Mr. Khan earned a Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Master of Science in Business and Financial Economics from the University of Greenwich, London, the United Kingdom. Notably, he received a gold medal for achieving the highest CGPA in Master of Arts in Governance and Development from the BRAC University, Bangladesh. His academic career attained a new dimension with the successful completion of the National Defence Course from the National Defence College, Bangladesh.
Additionally, Mr. Khan contributes as an Adjunct Faculty to the Department of Development Studies at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
His expertise extends to conducting enlightening sessions on a wide array of subjects in various institutions within the government and non-government sectors, both nationally and internationally.
